Holly paints vibrantly coloured bouquets of flowers and delicate birch trees with palette knives. More recently Holly has begun creating a range of landscapes bordering on a more abstract style, as well as some fun pointillist pieces, all beautifully glazed. Learn how she found her path to painting.
“Looking back I can see the path that led me to where I am today as an artist, although at the time I had no idea this is where I’d be. I spent most of my summers growing up at my grandparents. My brother, cousins and I would engage in many summertime activities that kids do, but one prominent memory is of my grandfather sitting all of us down around the kitchen table to “create”. He was a draftsman by trade, but a very skilled woodworker and artist as well. We’d spend hours colouring, drawing, using his calligraphy sets and painting. I still have a scrapbook filled with “masterpieces” from my childhood! I never would have thought that a simple, childhood activity fostered by my loving grandfather would have set me on the path to where I am today – creating, painting, and sharing my work with others.”
